A classic country ale, First Call is brewed with a single hop variety for purity and character. The dwarf hop First Gold grows in low hedgerows enabling a better quality harvest. A clean, fresh, distinctive beer with hints of orange and spice from the hop.

500ml bottle. Clear golden orange/amber colour with a fairly large white head, diminishing. Aroma is kind of earthy, malts, hops, hints of fruit/nuts with gentle spicing. Taste is predominantly a citrus hoppy flavour, malts.

Amber color, quite good head. Clear. Something like butter or wax in aroma. No hops at all. Sour in taste. Watery. The label has a joke on it. It goes "Rich & hoppy beer". Clever.

Nice clear amber-ish color with a fine off white head. Mild bready and flowery. Medium body. Moderate sweet and a fresh bitterness. Average carbonation. Nutty, mild fruity and mild citric. Fresh nice beer!

500ml bottle, amber brown, fairly light. Slight citrus taste, but not much hoppiness. Not a very interesting beer but just about ok.

Bottle (gift) at home. Nice full golden colour with a medium-sized White head; fair bit of lacing. Grassy hop aroma is pleasant and distinctive but faint. Taste is not so good: bittersweet, slightly sulphurous and noncommittal. A substandard recipe.
