Bottle, from historic notes. Source not recorded. Poured golden with a just off-whtie head. Aroma of flowers, caramel, malt, hops and citrus. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Worthy cause, ok beer.

500ml bottle from Booths, Penwortham. Pours clear golden amber with a short-lived thin white head. Aromas of butterscotch, biscuit, sulphur, cheap soap. Taste is more of the same, strong soapy and astringent finish. Not good. Would be a drain pour if I wasn’t such a trooper.

Bottle from Tesco. Golden-amber with next to no head. Sessionable and mildly hoppy ale that’s very easy supping.

Bottle from Tesco, drunk at home. Light gold with a thin white head. Buttery, spicy, malty smell. The taste certainly doesn’t defy expectations: quite sweet and grainy with an acrid/spicy bite. Very average.
