Bottle from hopt. Aroma is zesty calamondin citrus fruit, molasses, roasted malt, orange peel, bourbon, orange liqueur, rum, some wood, notes of coffee and a little coconut. Sweet flavour with a mild bitterness. Body is full, mildly sticky texture. Unique and surprising, not too boozy, coconut is rather mild for my taste but I dig the calamondin effect.

Smooooth, and very thick for Dutch stout level. Plenty of bourbon, fairly sweet, and a good bunch of coconut. Not completely sure what kalamansi is supposed to taste like, but there is some sort of citrussy tartness in the back, freshes it up nicely.

I was quite pleased to find a 330 ml bottle of Barrel Project 18.02 on a cruise through Scandinavia in the middle of this summer. Likely the last rating of the year for me, let's bring it on. Best before 03/2023 the cap announces, we will beat that considerably. Out comes a Belgian snifter, why not, for the pour. Tuxedo black in appearance with a minimal, light tan head. Wow, what a nose, chocolate, coal and tobacco. The taste, unique for sure, berry, ash, caramel, malt, earth and roasted nuts. A little heat off of it. Glad for the try.

0.33 l bottle from 'Ace Drinks', best before January 2022, cellared for over a year. Pitch black with a light brown layer. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty and a little fruity aroma of praline, mocca, some bourbon and a touch of orange. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty and slightly fruity taste of praline, coffee, soft cake, orange, quite some bourbon and a touch of vanilla, followed by a short, quite roasty-bitter, fruity and a bit boozy finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Interesting variety within this series of barrel-aged heavyweights. I don't get any coconut but the calamansi is clearly present, but somehow it clashes with the bourbon. Yes, a pleasant and tasty beer, but I prefer a classic RIS.

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of lucious coconut, bourbon, chocolate, some red fruit, orange and spices. Taste has spicey licorice, coconut, chocolate, some mint, bourbon, orange, vanilla and malt. Weird combination of coconut and orange, but it kinda works.

Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen (23092018) - dark brown to black pour with a tan head. Roasted and sweet malty with chocolate, caramel, some coffee roast, some notes of coconut and vanilla, full to medium body, some burnt malty accents, dark sweet malty coconut infused finish.

Bottle at Biergreissler during RBVG 2018. Dark opaque brown color light brown head. Tons of tannins in the aroma with dark roast coffee. Tons more tannins in the taste, very sweet, rough mouthfeel.

Bottle. Hazy brown color with beige head. Aroma is green apples, phenols, coffee, chocolate. Taste is green apples, coffee. Velvety mouthfeel with fine-bubble carbonation.
