Étrangement cela faisait un petit temps que nous n'avions pas sorti une IPA, pure et simple, mais voilà qui est chose faite. La base de céréales est composée d'orge, d'avoine et de flocons de riz. Les houblons Citra, Ekuanot et Chinook sont ici mis en avant. Et le tout est fermenté avec notre levure maison. Une ode aux houblons, mais tout en équilibre pour s'écarter des extrêmes... 6,8% d'alcool pour 100% de buvabilité.

Hazy IPA by the Ermitage crew in Brussels, can at Ganzerik (Ghent). Bit of a gusher – which I think can be ascribed to the ‘hop creep’ phenomenon in this particular case. Foamy, inches thick, egg-white, pillowy, cauliflower-shaped head, hazy yellow blonde robe with vague ochre-ish tinge. Perfumey, sultry aroma of jasmin blossoms, wet marijuana, dill, moldy lemons, flour, green mango, yellow kiwi, matcha tea, lavender, hard pear, lime zest, background notes of patchouli, tobacco and herb cheese. Sweetish onset, cleanly fruity with notes of unripe pear and green mango, fizzily carbonated with full, soft mouthfeel; ‘fluffy’ bready malt backbone under bittersweet aromas of very expressive and perfumey hoppiness, ranging from ripe pineapple and guava over lime zest to lavender and exotic tea, with even a light piney aspect lurking behind somewhere. Quite well-bittered for a NEIPA – and justly so to my personal taste – with a slightly powdery, somewhat warming tail. Decent enough, with an idiosyncratic flowery and blossomy perfume aspect to it, though Ermitage can do even better in my experience.

On tap at Brasserie L’Ermitage, Brussels on 4th February 2022. Slightly hazy amber with shallow foam and scant lacing. Spicy, pungent aroma. Citrus, spices and hazelnut in-mouth, with a spicy, hoppy finish. Full bodied with a zingy mouthfeel.

Can sourced from Etre Gourmet and drunk at home - New 🇧🇪 brewery ✅ pours with a big white head. Pleasing fruity aroma and taste with notes of papaya, lemon, grapefruit and satsuma, noticeable yeasty linger, sweet malts, grass, floral and light herbaceous hoppy accents into the close. Decent.

Flaska från Etre Gourmete. Rejält disig smutsgul vätska med ett mycket högt kritvitt stabilt skum. Fruktig doft med frisk tropisk frukt, citrus och nektar. Bra elegant kropp, riktigt torr, frukt, nektar, jäst, gräs och en torr eftersmak med krita. Annorlunda men trevlig tolkning av stilen

33cl bottle from the brewery in Brussels. F: big, white, good retention. C: dirty gold, hazy. A: orange, grapefruits, pine resins, pineapple, mango touch. T: medium body, orange, light grapefruits, pine touch, mango, medium carbonation, good balanced for the style, enjoyed.
