Tap at Lya. Pours opaque golden with thicc white head. Nose is sophisticated fruity, vineous notes on top of the classic bittersweet pils character. Taste is lightly sweet and moderately bitter notes of a fruity hint and noble hops with a spicy, almost vanilla-like woody touch. Light bodied yet pretty rich eith a soft to average carbonation.

From tap at Foeders, Amsterdam. Grainy malt with oak, vanilla, some barrel notes from the Port. Lots of wood in particular. Modest bitterness, medium body. Interesting and tasty, vanilla. Works well.

750ml bottle. Milky, yellow-ish golden colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Floral hoppy and very fine, mildly bretty yeasty aroma, hints of Hubba Bubba bubblegum, petals, some spelt in the background, oaky and nutty overtones. Taste is initially floral hoppy and mildly bretty, yeasty; dry, papery middle part with a touch of spelt and immense hints of oxidation, woody and somehow nutty hints of oak as well; a more homogeneous combination of both parts in the last third exhibits additional hints of grape sugar, white grapes, very mild funk, green walnut. Oily and minimally creamy texture, smooth and soft, simultaneously slightly dry palate, fine, mildly prickly carbonation. More than 2 years past BBE but matured in a very interesting way, still well working carbonation, very nice, mild bretty flavours, only the papery aspects in the middle part are a bit unpleasant but not disgusting - unorthodox experience.

Yellow colour with light haze and lasting thin head. In the aroma and flavour there's obvious sweet pils malt and also sweet port and white wine dryness. The dryness of the barrel is definitely there. Delicate. The depth is there but is subtle and rewarding.

Gusher :( Magus, kuiv, linnased, võine, tamme ka, diatsetüül. Õrnalt hapuks läinud läti laagrit meenutab see.

Bottle from MV. Misty golden-amber body, white head, gushing. Interesting aroma, mixing creamy red grape notes with some woody undertones, fruity notes, light vinegar touches, a bit dusty. Lean, soft taste, creamy red grape / barrel notes, some woody notes, but in the end ending with a bitterish kick, making the pils base quite obvious. Tart at times, but not excessively so. This was a better review before it somehow disappeared. Eh. Anyway, a very interesting, respectable experiment I'm glad I paid a hefty sum for, so damn Czech-hipsterish, it's beautiful. Not a beer I'm loving, but a beer I'm hugely respecting.
