Kerberos is the Greek name for the three-headed hellhound that guarded the gates of the underworld, making it more than worthy of protecting the contents of this bottle. We used the finest imported Pilsner malt and Belgian candi sugar to give this beer its’ light malt flavor and color, accented by the complex flavors and aromas imparted by our unique yeast strain.

2008 Bottle provided by bu11zeye. Pours with a small, white head that vanishes over a golden body. Aroma of of pear, coriander and candi sugar. Taste is candi sugar, dried fruits and a few spices. Very lively carbonation. Nothing too complex about this tripel.

7 oz nip bottle, a gift from my friend Ryan, Nose of yeast, candi sugar, and light cloves and bubblegum. Bright clear, yellow gold with a medium white head. Flavor has light sweetness, some spiciness, and light bitterness in the background. Not nearly a good tripel, but i could drink it as their are no bad flavors or odors coming through.

12oz bottle. Thick orange-tan color with no real head. No solid carbonation in the mouthfeel either. Sweet sugary aroma. The taste is sweet with faint hint of sourness. Pretty odd interpretation really, but not entirely unenjoyable. A tad too astringent, hops perhaps. Sub-par for the style all the way, but a decent brew nonetheless.

Not so bad. Belgian yeast and candi sugar is there. Light spice, coriander, a little citrus, and some wheat. Gold color and just a little cloudy.

From a 12 oz brown bottle, purchased a while ago at 3 sons dog and suds. Nice hazy pale yellow with sparkling streams of carbonation visibly apparent. On the bottom of the bottle is just enough sediment to make this a swirling hypnotizing experience. There are these flakes just hanging out randomly in my glass. Smell is just a tad fruity and acceptable. I remember the first time I had a tripel; tripel what? Well if it’s an American tripel you know what tripel is from the flavor but if it’s a Belgie tripel you may not find out until it hits you. The American uncivilized versions really do not stack up to the refined Belgie versions. This stuff is someplace in between those said versions of tripel. First taste is somewhat strong but not really offensive; it is very acceptable for an American tripel. Nope, not as reserved as the Belgies but, not as rude as the corrupt American imitation tripels. Barely any perceived carbonation, but there is this creamy thing going on between the tongue and the roof of the mouth. Taste is certainly Belgian tripel in nature, good job FD. Big bark of flavors, go piss on a fire hydrant; after a sniff or two. Big flavor bark but no dog bite. I found this American contemporary tripel rather acceptable all round. Dizzying in effect at times, without you knowing it. Isn’t that an attribute of a real Belgie tripel? Let’s go kick over an antique shovelhead. Finish is almost a Belgie tripel but not quite, taste is there but it lacks kindness. However, it hides its 8+% well. Approaches, but just can’t equal a real Belgie tripel. S6L4F2T4O10

Bottle. Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of sugar, malts, alcohol, some fruitiness. Flavour is sweet, malty, with just a little hint of sour- and bitterness. Finish is a little alcoholbitter. Mediumbodied. Sweetness sticks, becomes cloying towards the end. OK, but no more than that.

Bottle. Slightly hazy light golden body with a short, rapidly diminishing white head. Spicy, sweet aroma of orange, sugar, honey and a hint of clove. Also hints of bread and flowers. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. The finish is dry, moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Alcohol warming in the finish, too. Medium body with a watery texture and lightly carbonation. A little too balanced toward sweet and lacking the complexity of a top-notch tripel. Average.

Bottle from Sun Devil in Mesa, AZ. Pours golden amber with a big off-white frothy head; lacing. Aromas of kandi and yeast spice. Near medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavors of pale malt, kandi, and mild spices. A decent essay at a Belgian. Arguably better than New Belgium. Certainly no regrets on the purchase.
