Expedition® Stout is the longest brewed Imperial Stout in the US. First brewed in 1989 to be robust enough to hold up to time and travel, we couldn’t think of a better beer to honor for our 35th Anniversary. We’ve brewed a special, stronger version for your cellar, your travels, or those special occasions of your own.

Flaska från staterna. Backlog.

12 ounce bottle. Rating number 5️⃣5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣❗️Opaque, jet black color topped by a finger-high creamy tan head. Rich roasted malt aroma has notes of espresso and bittersweet chocolate. Flavor follows nose with added notes of treacle, licorice and tobacco. Soft, creamy mouthfeel lays on the palate like a luxurious ganache. Wonderfully complex and layered. The 11.5% ABV is amazingly subdued. Elegant and classic.

12oz bottle. Awesome! Robust and amazing Imperial Stout. Complex - good balance of chocolate/coffee, yet fairly sweet. Cellaring another for a few years to see how it ages. Wonderful

I obtained a 9/3/20 bottled, 12 oz bottle of 35th Anniversary several weeks ago at a Total Wine in the Fort Worth area. I consider the bourbon barrel aged version of Expedition to be one of the best imperial stouts I have had. Let us determine if the beer in hand approaches that. My ABGB snifter is being utilized on this tasting while I get in the right place with some alternative rock. The fragrance permeates the air immediately. Chocolate, toffee and some booziness. Very promising. The pour is an unequivocal black with the barest of a tan ring of very fine bubbles. I take a drink. Should have bought two. It is superb. Raisins, bakers chocolate, burnt toast, roasted pecans, caramel, black plums and a touch of coffee in the finish. Really a fine brew.
