Mocno karmelowe, przyjemna kompotowa z czerwonych owoców owocowość, finisz palony, minimalnie kwaskowe. Barwa głęboko bursztynowa, przejrzysta, brak piany, brak lacingu. Goryczka zaznaczona, palona. Wydaje mi się że mogłoby być więcej ciała, ale i tak połączenie tego stylu z jarzębiną wyszło bardzo dobrze. Warto spróbować

2018 vintage, sampled in 2024. Pours very dark chestnut brown. With a vigorous pour, a small off-white head forms that is relatively stable, but certainly very small indeed. Scent is bursting with dried fruits, a certain nutty note (might be the age factor here) and even whiffs of vanilla. Typical BW, without giving a very cloying impression. Taste is bit bitter, certainly showing the age - which seems to fit the beer very well, and is nothing but a positive to me. nuttyness co-exist with the dried fruits (figs, dades rather than raisins) . Very malty. Touch of earthy style hopbitterness. most definately to the sweezt side, but nothing extreme, not cloying or overly exhausting. A very time-demanding glass, but an enjoyable one nevertheless.

Barwa rubinowa w kierunku bursztynu. Piana umowna ale okrąg na obysie szkła pozostaje do końca. Świetny aromat grzanego wina. W smaku bardzo wyraźne, słodkie, idealnie zbalansowane. Genialne piwo. Trochę poleżakowało na specjalną okazję. A dzisiaj (03.06.2023) się dowiedzialem! :)

Bottle, waxed. Wax crumbles into tiny pieces, landing everywhere even inside the bottle... Might want to floss later. Cloudy amber, light beige head. Caramel and toffee aroma, whisky barrel-like notes. Caramely flavour, slightly sharp booze, berries, dried fruit. Long, quite bitter finish. Flavourful but a little rough.

375mL bottle, pours a hazy rusted reddish brown with a tiny head. Aroma brings out caramel, dark berries, and a little molasses. Flavour is very fruity, with lots of bitterness, red berries, a little caramel, and bready malt. The fruitiness is nice but the bitterness is too amplified. Good beer but it has its flaws.

Bottle picked up at Biala Mali 2019-11-18 Krakow - 40 zloty AR: vinos, sponge, rasinis, dadels, prunes, AP: murky bourbon, frothy cream beige head F: vinos a bit sharp, dry, wee sponge, raisins, prunes, dadels, smooth, hot warming feeling from the strong wine

Bottle: Poured a clear burgundy color ale with a medium size off-white foamy head with very minimal retention and not much lacing. Aroma of dry caramelized malt with light port notes is quite nice. Taste is also a mix of dry caramelized malt notes with some light port notes and some light oxidized notes. Body is about average with medium to low carbonation level with no real apparent alcohol notes. Interesting take on the barleywine style with low carbonation, to much residual sugar notes and dry oxidized finish.

Keg at Wściekły Chmiel, Poznan, 12/07/19. Hazed chestnut brown with a well presented beige cap. Nose is fruit cake, dates, toffee, light spices, sugar dusting. Taste comprises light barrel, fruit slice, nutty twang, brown sugar, toffee, faint cocoa. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced warming boost. Decent barley wine but not from the top shelf.
