We hebben onze Angus Tripel dit keer laten rijpen op 2 verschillende vaten. Voor deze editie hebben Heaven Hill (Bourbon) en Apple Brandy vaten gebruikt, waar we het bier 8 maanden op hebben laten rijpen.
De combinatie van deze twee vaten, tezamen met het bier resulteert in een intense smaakbeleving.
Het bier een mooie honing gouden kleur gekregen.
De geur is rond, met tonen van vanille en een hintje rook.
Het bier is mooi gebalanceerd met complexe aroma’s van kaneel, vanille en caramel.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is sweet apple brandy, soft Bourbon, vanilla, oak, sugary apple, malt, light spicy. Pretty sweet, light bitter and boozy. Rich and sweet, bit sticky. Clever and unique.

33cl Fles van Landal Coldenhove. Iets mistig goudoranje kleur, witte kraag. Appelmoes, bourbon, eikenhout, vanille, krenten, curacao, licht kruidig, vrij zoet maar niet storend, alcohol, hout, warmend. Volle body. Zeer smakelijk bier.

Bottle. Golden pour. Aroma of nice sweet boozy apple, fruity yeast esters, malt, orange zest, caramel, oaky vanilla and soft sweet spices. Taste has fruity yeast esters, sweet apple booze, caramel, orange zest, oaky vanilla, malt, sweet spices annd warming booze. Apple brandy or calvados is great with tripels, works very well the yeast esters and malt flavors. Very nice.

Bottle. Amber color. Apple, vanilla and bourbon in the aroma. Dried fruit. Also dried fruit in the flavor. Oak, apple, vanilla, bourbon and mint. Sweet, full bodied. Warming alcohol.

Bottle. Color: Slightly hazy orange amber, very thin off-white head. Aroma: Boozy, fruity. Taste: Boozy, fruity apple and sweetish dried stone-fruit, yellow raisins, sweetish caramel and sugary notes, subtle herbal notes (maybe rye notes from the Heaven Hill Bourbon?), light hints of cocos and yeast. Hints of oak wood. Dry-ish. Very low carbonation, over medium body. Medium to above medium sweet, sticky. Light to moderate bitterness. Warming mouthfeel. Nice, unusual barrel aged combination. Sweetish, but works out very well for me. Slow sipper.
