Ives is barrel fermented wheat beer blended from select casks.
This release blended three well aged casks showing lemon and spice notes that serve as a counterpoint to the other floral and fruity flavors, notably rose and green grape. Moderate acidity lingers through a medium finish on this always evolving beer.

It's hazy, especially when I poured the last bit, orange reddish, small head of foam but long lasting. Smells fruity, tart as hell, very very much Brettanomyces, which I really dig.
The taste almost lives up to the smell. Tart and funky, fruity, acetic, a wonderful American Wild Ale if I ever had one.
Big thumbs up.

Bottle. Color: Slightly hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Tart and sweet, fruity and floral notes. Taste: Over moderate tart, moderate sweet, fruity notes of sweet and tart grapes and berries, some citrus. Subtle floral notes. Notes of wood, tannins and minerals. Wheat malt. Dry mouthfeel, especially at finish. Funky hints. Medium body, under average bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Tending towards a smooth and floral Geuze style. Light bitterness, going towards moderate bitterness at finish. Well balanced, nice complexity. Very nice.
