Clear pale blond colour with massive foamy head. The thick foam masks the aroma somewhat. The taste is simple, light and malty at first. Wood smoke dryness comes through fairly strongly in the end though.

Pourquoi avoir fait cette bière? Je me le demande bien. Il s'agit ici d'une innovation sans aucun intérêt. Mais on pourrait d'ailleurs se poser la question d'un marché où l'on ne peut maintenant difficilement exister si l'on ne sort pas de nouveautés tous les mois. Notre bonne vieille société de consommation n'y est pas pour rien. Et si la Belgique, forte de ses traditions n'était pas encore rendue à cette mode. Cela change peu à peu, poussée par un marché où des Uiltje ou La Débauche (par exemple, mais qui sont loin d'être les seuls dans cette nouvelle tendance marketing) inondent le consommateur de leurs nouveautés, pas forcément abouties, mais qui donnent leurs doses aux junkies que nous sommes. Donc arrêtons de nous extasiez devant des bières qui font la course aux ajouts, aux intensités, EBU, Abv...La beauté est dans la justesse, pas dans le superlatif. Cela nous amène à des bières farfelues, et cette Cornet fumée en est une. Le fumé ne s'allie absolument pas à la base (que je ne redécrirai pas ici), et forme un cocktail dissonant et déséquilibré. Restez donc sur la version de base.

Unbalanced. Medium body, average carbonation. Light bitterness at finish. Mwah, not my kind of beer.

Bottle. Gold with a gargantuan white head. Aroma is hard to detect through it - light citrus, spices, negligible smoke. Sweet at first with a cheesy yeast note before bitterness, alcohol and the little smoke rein things in. After a while the finish grips a little more. OK.

Fles thuis geprobeerd. Het is een helder goudgeel bier met een volle schuimkraag. Het heeft een rokerige houtige geur. De smaak is moutig, houtig rokerig en turfachtig.
