Can pours gold with a thin white head. Corn and soured pale grain aroma and fflavor. Not bad for being so cheap.

I was actually a bit surprised by this beer. Something like 67 cents for a can at Trader Joe’s. Poured a clear golden color with a medium sized stark white head. Aroma was corn, cereal, wheat notes. Flavor was, well not as offensive as I had expected. Very light, and a lot better made than the ratings seem to give it credit for. Perhaps my beer was colder than others or maybe theirs weren’t handled well in transport?

Trader Joe’s, DC six-pack ($4): Pours a straw color with a white head. Aroma of corn and Mexico. There is nothing offensive about this beer like there is with virtually every other cheap TJ’s six-pack, and that’s a good thing. Did I mention that it’s cheap? Well it is. It is very cheap and drinkable for that cheap price. Whatever.

Another pale lager from Trader Joe’s Glen Allen, VA. Pours a pale golden color, clear, with a large creamy head. Fades quickly but leaves nice lacing. Aroma of cereal grains and creamed corn. The taste is husky grainy notes, spaghetti o’s, creamed corn and bad cheese. Wow. This is beyond bad. Instant drain pour and I need another beer to cleanse that foulness from my mouth and memory.

Yellow. Corn aroma and flavor. Sugar and a sweet finish. Drinkable, but not much there.

Can. Pours a clear, glowing gold with a dissipating white head. Rich corn and grain aroma with hints of caramel and apple. Flavor is sweet with more corn and cereal, along with some sugar and wheat. Light in body with fine, soft carbonation. Finishes lightly sweet and crisp, with some lingering sugar. This is one of the best Pale Lagers I have ever had. Superb.

Crystal clear gold body that throws up a nice tall, sticky white head. The aroma is off somewhat, vegetal, grassy, slightly sour. The flavor is soapy, metallic, almost like a poorly rinsed glass that had some soap and beer left in it. Cheap, $3.99 a six at Trader Joe’s.

From Trader Joes. Pours gold with a foamy white head. Light malt aroma and an even lighter hop aroma. Sort of medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is mildly sweet without much bitter to balance. There is some bitter. The flavor isn’t great, but it does not leave a nasty in the mouth. There is some very light bitter in the finish.
