Hazy deep brown - red beer. Good pale tan head. Palate is light and airy with mild minerally crispness. Little sourish lactose in the mellow dark malts. Underneath is mild roast and coffee and tangy dark fruits. A bare whisper of smoke. Finishes soft and dry. Well joined up.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from the brewery. Pours rich, ruby-brown with a huge, cascading mocha cream head. Chalky cocoa in the aroma with hints of tangy berries. Light to medium sweet flavor with further dry, dusty chocolate, some moderate roast and a bit of burnt wood, earthy bitterness and hints of tangy fruits. Medium bodied with fine, velvety carbonation. Pretty dynamic to finish with more baking cocoa but softer bitterness and a slightly more pronounced fruity tang. I wasn’t totally taken with this beer at first but the more of it I drink the more I enjoy it.
