Bottle at home, thanks to Leighton for doing the leg work on this brewery pick up, 02/10/13. Light black displaying reddish hues when held to the light with a fairly large light tan head that dissipates slightly but stays for the show. Nose carries a dark fruit twang, earthy, light cocoa, dates, bitter orchard notes. Taste comprises light roast, cocoa powder, earthy, tarte dark fruits, yeast esters. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry light roast and bitter fruit in the finale. Solid enough porter.

Bottle at Partizan. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasty, earth, caramel, treacle, dried fruit and chocolate. The taste is rich, roasty, toasty, earth, spice, caramel, treacle, cocoa, decento bitterness and candy with a dry, roasty finish. Med+ body and moderate carbonation. Nice body and very drinkable.

Bottle from the brewery and drunk at home. Very dark brown beer with a lasting dark beige head. Chocolate cookie aroma. Yes a decent chocolate flavoured beer. Do I get much of the different yeast? Maybe. A bit like a biere de garde brune on the finish and in fact overall. A bit of spicy malty flavour on a lasting finish. Smooth in mouth. Touch of woodiness maybe hinting at the Belgian/Saison yeast. Yes, quite biere de gardey. Nice enough choc. Very interesting I think.
