Bottle. A clear, copper colored beer with a small beige head on top. Fruity on the nose with a touch of chocolate and roasted malts. A whiff of hops too. Sweet and malty flavor with some roasted malt and chocolate. A weak but pleasant bitterness lasts a good while. Medium body. Sweet finish with enough bitterness to give it some balance. Overall it’s a too sweet beer, but it’s a quite decent and very drinkable one. (090328)

Bottled (From Citymarket, Pori). Deep copper colour with mediumsized beige head and good lace. Aroma is roasted malts, some dark berries, wood and also some slight caramel maltyness lurking. Flavour is fruity, slightly roasted and also has some dark berries as well as chocolate in it. The chocolate grows in the finish and aftertaste. A bit thin, but otherwise very drinkable. As it warms up the flavour gets some nuttyness as well.

Bottled (BB 01/2010). Clear, deep ruby color, small beige head. Aroma has mentholic hops, toffee, caramel and hints of vanilla. Tickling carbonation. Decent body for 4.0 % beer. Toffeish-sweetish with some dark fruity (raisin cake) flavors. Finish is more on the hoppy side. Ok pasteurised English beer.

Bottle picked up at the very large Tesco store in Aylesbury 23-03-09, consumed 24-03-09 Pours an attractive reddy brown, very clear with light tan head, look great. Aroma is possibly its achilles heel, ok there is some toffee but it really differs very little from a lot of other pasteurised quite malty beers, though it is still ok. Taste is malty with a reasonably pronounced hoppiness, a slight burn at the back of the mouth, touch drying a solid bitterness at 4% its really pretty decent with a fair bit in here. On second taste there is a little sweet fruitiness, for a UK pasteurised beer this is definately one of the better ones, well done Adnams. A5 A5 F7 P3 OV15 3.5

Bottle from Tesco. Deep amber in colour with a decent, off-white head. Almost savoury, malty aroma. Lively flavours of doughy malts, red fruits and a touch of sweetness, before a short bitter finish. A characterful bottled beer.

500ml bottle at Chris o New Year tasting 08/09. Chestnut, lasting beige head. Again, it’s a pretty solid malty best bitter. It’s fine.

500ml bottle bought at Centra Colosseum in Oslo, and enjoyed back home in Tromsø. This beer proves that it is quite possible to make great stuff with a low ABV. Nice in appearance with a shining, rusty-amber body, supported by a perfect, beige head, blanketing the glass. Light chocolate malts to the nose. Taste of fruit-chocolate with some grainy hints behind. Dry bitter endnotes. A very well balanced brew with fine drinkability [19.12.2008].
