Deep brown with a foamy, off-white head, the predominant aroma is chocolate malt, this continues into the flavour, with some sweetness and a lovely smooth mouthfeel, the finish being slightly sweet with a hint of fruit. Not a supremely challenging beer, but very easy drinking and a pleasant palate, pretty much what you'd expect from a mild

Bottle from a local supermarket. Poured dark amber to mid brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma of toffee, malt, roasting, vanilla and moderately fruity. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily to slick texture, soft carbonation. One of Adnams best imo.

500ml bottle. Dark chestnut brown colour with a smooth off-white head. Aroma is malts, perhaps very gently roasted, caramel, fruit, hints of spices. Taste of slightly sweet/fruity malts, faintly bitter finish. Smooth. Not much to talk about with this one.

Bottle. Dark amber red with a very thin head. Not too different from the cask, with an older ale style, some sweetness, but not high on flavour.

Bottle at home. Chestnut brown amber coloured pour with a loose cream coloured head. Aroma is big mineral, oyster, seaweed with semi sweet nutty malts, liquorice, burnt toast. Flavour is composed of sweet toasted grains, nutty with some toffee, toffee apple, hints of liquorice, honey on toast. Big malty flavours for the abv. Palate is medium sweet, moderate carbonation. OK.

Bottled 500ml. -from Pivoljub Ljubljana. Clear amber coloured, minimal off-white head, caramel and dark fruits in the nose. Sweet malty, caramel, dried fruits and touch of metal with sugary finish. Too sweet and not so good.

Bottle, 4.0%. Slightly roasted aroma. Clear dark brown colour. Good frothy and creamy tan head. The flavour is watery but OK refreshing. Roasted and nutty with a spicy hint of aroma hop. OK for the ABV.

Bottle. Pours hazy copper brown with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel, yeast and fruit, with some notes of hops. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with pronounced bready, malty and estery notes and touches of caramel. Rough and estery aftertaste. Okay but nothing really impressive.
