When Daniel Thwaites was embarking on his brewing career, the INDUS would have been voyaging to the East Indies – trading Lancashire cotton for exotic Eastern delights. Our INDUS Pale Ale celebrates ales of that period with a refreshing brew enriched with abundant hops for flavour that stays fresh and crisp to the finish.

Refreshing amber ale, brewed with four hop varieties for superb taste and aroma.

500ml bottle from a local ICA store. Frothy, near-white head that stayed well and left a good amount of lacing to the glass. Clear copper coloured body. Leafy hops and earthy malts in a promising aroma. Resinous hops in flavour in fine harmony with mid-sweet, caramel malts and with a good bitter support towards the ending. Soft in the mouth. Clean, fresh and moreish. Easy to drink and easy to like. A pleasant surprise (Tromsø, 10.03.2012).

Golden colour with a white head. Fruity and citric nose. Flavour are also fruity and citric, with a subtle caramel background. British IPA are normaly a bit more mild. Like the original style. Not like the american versions. This had a really fine and rich taste. Must go back and see if they have more, because this was really good.

500 ml bottle, from Ica Kilden, Hillevåg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.6%. Clear deep golden colour, large white head. Moderate but okay aroma of (primarily British?) hops, some fruit, malts and toffee in the background, hints of dust. The flavour is distinctly hoppy throughout, and "typically British" (= far from an American IPA), balanced by a moderate malty and toffee sweetness, with a citrussy and medium bitter finish. Quite enjoyable.

Light copper colour. Aroma is very sweet. Also a bit grassy with some green apple too. Flavour has a good balance of sweetness and fresh bitterness from the hop. Hop has a nice lingering citrus character.

Sweet flavor, light caramel, toast, light citrus bitterness, some faint herbal and leafy bitterness. Light to medium in body with fine to average carbonation.
