12 oz, boxed. Aroma has notes of soy sauce, cherry, coconut, cocoa, licorice, light smoke. Pours black with a one finger beige head that quickly collapses into a ring. Taste is moderately bittersweet and a tad savory with flavors like the aroma descriptors. Not really getting the salt and the smoke influence is very light. Pretty tasty though.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a very dark brown hue, reddish hints, a medium light brown head. A big fruity nose, huge cherry liquor. The dominant flavor is more cherry liquor, toffee, light smoke, caramel. Needs more roast, a porter backbone. The ABV is well hidden. Has a ton of potential. I like it.

Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours clear dark brown with orange glints and a creamy tan head. Aroma is smoky with perhaps a bourbon note. Approaching full bodied. Flavor starts with smoke, gets some chocolate, touch of salt and cherry appears finally, followed by more smoke. Not overly sweet, actually very, very lightly tart. Bitterness comes from somewhere. Rather delicate, tho smoke is a bit strong.

Cherry, cocoa nose. Mahogany, thin tan head. Rich cherry and cocoa, subtle bourbon and mint. Full body, easy carbonation, warm. Layers are hard to flesh out until it warms. Fantastic, but pricey.

12 oz bottle from Firestone Walker mail order . Nose is cherry forward with dark cocoa and light hints of vanilla and smokiness. Clear dark brown with a big, lightly lacing tan head. Flavor is lightly sweet and smoky forward with the cherries, cocoa, and vanilla in the background. Really good but not the awesomeness I was hoping for. Needed a bourbon presence if it was aged in bourbon barrels.
