Bottle. Creamy off-white excellent fully lasting head. Orange colour. Heavy malty and hoppy aroma. Pine and rasin notes. Moderate bitter flavor. Vinius and rasin notes. Medrate bitter finish. Creamy palate.

Bottle 25cl. @ home.[ Thx to Papsoe ]. Unclear medium amber color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, heavy to harsh hoppy, resin, grapefruit, wet wood, alcohol - ethanol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and heavy bitter with a long duration, a dry dry finish. Bitternes is resin - ethanol and sour old hoppes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate to heavy alcoholic. This is just over powered and not balanced. (030908)

Bottle 0,25l shared with Rune. Thanks. Golden amber colored. A large creamy head. Unclear. Sweet hoppy and fruity aroma. Flavor of some malt and citrus. Dry fruity bitterness in the finish. More like a DIPA than a barley wine.

250ml bottle purchased at Ølbutikken in Copenhagen and shared with Finn a month later in Tromsø. Very active, off-white foam, mostly lasting on top of a dark-amber body. Dark fruity smell with hints of roastiness. Dark, sappy oranges in flavour with caramel notes. Dry, lingering aftertaste, a bit distracted by alcohol and yeast. Still nice to drink (13.10.2008).

Bottled. Clear ruby, rich head. Woody and caramlly. Soft and warming with dense full body. Concentrated flavour of strawberry, salty caramel and licorice. Lingering bitterness. A powerful beer that would gain from aging.

Hazy amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma has American hops up front, lots of citrus, and quite a bit of peach. Fruity malt aroma with dried fruits and a little alcohol. Flavour is dry with lots of malt and strong hop bitterness. There’s a little chalky dry feel that goes more or less well along with the extreme hop bitterness. I tried it with blue cheese and it’s certainly not that kind of barleywine - it lacks the rich and sweet malt. But as a near-IIPA it’s great, with a long lasting hoppy aftertaste.

Biggish offwhite lasting head. Hazy deep red body. Grapefruity roasty malty aroma. Bittter-sweet sharpish alcoholic malty grapefruity taste with wooden notes. Sharp mouthfeel. Bitter grapefruit afteraste. Nice. (0.25l bottle shared by gr0ve.)

Hazy brown color; generous head. It has a very nice aroma of caramel, malt, powerful hops, wood; light vanilla too; the hops are very perfumy, . The mouthfeel is not as sugary as expected; there is a strong caramel flavor, quite sweet, some chocolate too, with very strong hopping (bringing resins, fruity notes, oils). The hopping is the highlight in this beer. Very good.
