Bottled. An unclear dark brown beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, malt, caramel sauce, fruits, and some prunes. The flavor is sweet and very alcoholic, the alcohol attacks the palate and leaves a tickling which turns into a slight burn in the finish. But besides the alcohol it has notes of caramel, malt, fruits, and some prunes, leading to the dry and alcoholic finish.

Bottle. It pours a clear, copper colored body, and a two-finger beige head soon settles as a thin, dense layer of beige bubbles. Looks really nice actually. When all of the bottle is poured into the glass, the before clear beer turns unclear, but is still good-looking. The aroma has a distinct piney accent, before some notes of fresh lemon peel and the sweetish malts shine through. Not much alcohol detected, but some dried fruits lurks in the background. It’s sweet in the mouth, quite warming and definately full-bodied. A fine bitterness follows you from the first sip to long after the swallow, and has company of caramel, dried fruits like sweetness, green pinecones and a touch of lemon peel. Maybe a bit overcarbonated, but nothing ruining the joy. A pleasant beer definately not meant to be drank by numbers, easily giving you thirty minutes of relaxation. 100612

25cl bottle pours hazy copper, orange with a thin, creamy white head. Salty, malty, caramel aroma, doughy, raisins, apples, pears, yeast. Flavor is sweet, salty, raisins, bread, malts, oranges, salted caramel. Finish is full bodied and sticky.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy aroma with some hints of dark fruit. Malty spicy hoppy bitter flavor with some hints of dark fruit. Has a dry malty hoppy bitter finish.

Bottled. Hazy reddish brown. Good malty and hoppy aroma. Decent bitter. Quite sweet. Pretty ok.

Bottle marked as best by 15.Sep.2010 thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small, off-white head and a murky orange-brown body. Aroma is soapy with hops and caramel. Taste is soap, caramel, raisins, hops and nuts. Lively carbonation and a water like mouthfeel.

Bought at Olbutikken during EBF 08 in Copenhagen. Drunk on my mother’s 80th birthday. Hazy russet with lasting thickish cream head. Big burst of red fruits and hoppy lychees on the aroma. Rather a beautiful strong beer with really good sherberty hops in the mouth. A dramatic big barley wine, that is actually extremely likeable. Never too alcoholic, yes some heat on the end, but nothing ridiculous. Fruit on the nose is a mix of jammy richness and hoppy grapefruit. Pretty well structured and as I say quite likeable. Thanks to puzzl for sharing - a lot of earthy character to this one, especially in the nose - some tropical fruit and bubblegum serve as a base for some light funkiness - flavor is herbal and lightly bitter - medium sweet through the middle, with a lot of fruit esters - finishes with light background leatheriness - quite understated for its strength, yet very complex.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich with hops, malt, caramel and fruits. A bit vinous.
