Ørbæk Black is a coal-black liquorice stout with a beautiful, light-brown head. Brewed with love, it is perfect for anyone who cannot keep their fingers off a bowl of liquorice all-sorts. Ørbæk Black is brewed using dark, rich types of malt, which lend the beer notes of freshly-toasted bread and liquorice all-sorts. It is a liquorice stout, to which we add chili to provide an extra touch of sharpness. It has a lovely aroma of the deep malt base with great chocolate, toffee and slightly smoky notes. The taste is rich and caramelised with a delicate bitterness from the roasted malt. You will also notice the scrumptious liquorice and sharp chili.

50cl Bottle from some EKO shop. ABV is 4.8%. Almost black colour, beige head. Aroma of malts, caramel, some liquorice, indeed some Schwarzbier character, toffee, coffee and cream. Flavour is medium sweet, coffee and cream, toffee, roasted malts, some liquorice, soft bitter finish. Light bodied. Pleasant brew.

Leckeres Teil!

Huge beige head. Nearly opaque black body with faint brown glow at bottom. Earthy licorice aroma with mealy sugary notes. Dry-sweet earthy licorice taste with salty roasty notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish earthy licorice aftertaste with roasty salty notes. Not very complicated, but vivid, clear, and harmonic. I like it. (0.5l bottle, from SuperBrugsen Fredericia.)

500ml bottle trade with Sigmund. Gushing tendency. Unclear brown-black body, fawn coloured head reduced to a filmy layer. Spotty lacing. Smell of dark malts and earth. Sweet and salty liquorice taste, notes of coffee and earth. Roasted bitter endnotes. Fair enough (Tromsø 01.07.2015).

Bottle. A thick, dense, dark beige head leaves lacings. It has a dark reddish brown body looking clear. The aroma is rather malty, with some wort, roasted malts and dark dried fruits. Plum notes. It’s sweetish on the palate, with a nice carbonation. Rather sweet, with roasted notes, caramel sweetness and some wort. Lasting roasted finish with wort and caramel. Not much licorice going on, and in general it’s rather boring and not very good. 140808
