Also die Flasche macht was her, das muss man schon sagen.

Bottled. Clear, brown with some off-white head. Sugar, molasses and roasted notes in the aroma. The flavor has sugar, some roasted notes and wort. A bit too thin body, and a finish with roasted malt and wort. (060829)

Draught. Grainy, bready aroma. Very dark brown colour, small light brown head. Thin, bready flavour, slightly roasted. High carbonation. Reminds me most of all of oxidized pils with added colour.

Black beer with dark-red shine; yellow-brownish, very dense & finebubbled head, receding to rim. Very creamy nose, like coffeecream. Weakens afterwards to more coloured-malty, bready, but not sweet notes. Coffee, however... Soft sweet malts taste, with, once more, chalk. There’s no trace here for anything roasted, let alone charred. It’s just sweet, but not cloying. Light bodied, some gristslickness, "cobwebby" texture. Aw, this is not a bad Schwarz. But then, there’s really nowhere I could state "very good..."

500 ml bottle, bought at KaDeWe, Berlin. dark brown colour, nearly black. Large and lasting greyish brown head. Moderate malty aroma with notes of caramel and bakery, hints of prunes. Moderate carbonation, mellow and pleasant mouthfeel. Nice moderately malty flavour with a pleasant roastiness, hints of schwarzbrot. Easy drinking. I like it.

Test vom 16.2.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,7,8,8,11,7 - 7,80

Bottle: Very dark amber coloured, thin, off-white lacing foamy layer; dry, roastmalty nose, distinctive molasses with a caramelly undertones; quite dry, (dark-)malty flavour with a chocolatey bitterness, gentle mouthfeel; short, mild, dry chocolatey finish. A mild and pleasant Schwarzbier.....................

A deep red beer with a disappearing brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel as well as slight notes of smoke. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and slightly notes of roasted malt. The mouthfeel is quite carbonated, and the end dry roasted.
