Cask @ Counting House, JDW. This is a Golden Ale. Clear golden colour, dense, white, medium head. Aroma is malty dusty, a bit of fruits. Taste is light malted, a bit sour, hint of fruits, maybe some wheat.

(Cask at Ship & Mitre, Liverpool, 18 July 2009) Golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity nose with notes of toffee, citrus, dried fruit and dusty hops. Fruity, slightly malty taste with garin, toffee and apricots. On the thin side, but well balanced and fairly tasty.

Cask via handpump at the Pembury Tavern on 15th July 2009. Yellowish in colour with disappearing whitish head. Some very unusual flavour notes with this beer; some slight smokiness in the aroma but also a musty scent rather like books in an old English country cottage. Dryish mouthfeel with a little astringency. Mouthfeel slightly textured on account of a fair amount of condition.
