Our Original Stout is a classic full-bodied stout with a distinctive chocolate aroma.

It is brewed using a combination of Chocolate and Premium Ale malts, and bittered with a blend of hops to create a complex, flavoursome refreshing stout.

An ideal match with shellfish and creamy or chocolate puddings.

Draught. Black colour, small off-white head. Aroma is toasted tones, toffee, mild earth and some slight berries to it. Flavour is chocolate, some coffee, roasted malts, mild figs and dried fruits. Otherwise quite nice, but rather thin body to it.

Bottle. B&M. Clear, dark, cola brown. Messy slick of tan head. Dark chocolate malts. Some treacle. Bonfire toffee. Milky chocolate. Taste is nutty sweet. Light dry. Light bitter. Smooth, slick, creamy mouthfeel. Finishes long, mild bitter. Really good, smooth, drinkable stout. Brains is good, as someone once said to me...

Bottle from Tesco, consumed at home. Dark brown, high amount of carbonation, very little head. Enticing aroma of roast malt and a bit of coffee. Bittersweet taste, giving way to a bitter/sour taste and a bitter finish. Weak mouthfeel. Lacks the complexity and richness of a really great stout, but still enjoyable enough.
