33 cl can @ Armonkallio. Canned 16.10.2020, BBE 11/2025. Rated on 12.12.2020 Aroma has orange, licorice and toasted malt. Also fruit juice and liquor. Flavour has liquor, bourbon tones, wood, chocolate. Quite ok stuff and rather easy-going for the style and ABV.

Can. Almost clear dark brown beer, small tan head. Nose of strangely perfumed dark chocolate. Smooth but fairly dry palate, decent fine carbonation. Much dark chocolate on the dark malts, edging towards the high cacao dark chocolate. A savoury tangy perfumery Amburana wood plays havoc with the dark malt base. I see what Kees was going for here but Amburana is the most punchy wood around and I think it's very tricky to use. Here it sits apart from the rich dark chocolate and makes it taste like some cutting edge cocktail from a fancy restaurant. An acquired taste. I'm still trying to acquire it.

A black beer, a head is quite small and light brown. Aroma has chocolate, hazelnuts, richness of malts. Taste has smooth maltyness chocolate, hint of liquorice. Almost full bodied. Quite simple, but balanced. Enjoyable.

Can. Black pour. Aroma of smooth chocolate, caramel, wood, licorice, soft smoke and malt. Taste has sweet creamy chocolate, earthy vanilla, caramel, licorice, malt, soft smoke and wooden flavors. Nice one, has dessert character, but it's still a stout and not molten ice cream.

Pours nearly black, small tanned head dissapears fast. Scent is rich, chocolate malts, roasty, intense. Amburana is relatively mild, but noticable. gingerbread pops to mind. Taste is full, roasty, chocolate malts & cacao ( including it's bitterness ) . Amburana wood really takes the uperhand towards, during, and finalizing the aftertaste. Bit spicy as well (due to the wood) . OK . medium body and carbo.

330ml can Sophies Beer Store. Black appearance, thick tan head. Curious spiced woody notes mingle with a rich chocolate base. Echoes of banana foam sweets. Interesting.
