A Red Sour Beer Aged in Oak Barrels With Ginger and Lime Leaves.
Rye malt in our red sour beer provided a subtly spicy foundation on which we layered fresh ginger and lime leaves. A pleasing aroma, a tart bite, and a lingering heat round out our homage to the classic Dark and Stormy.

2025 edition in a 473ml can, with 5.5.% ABV. Fairly clean, amber with a red hue and golden highlights. The head is warm-beige coloured with a fizziness leaving quick enough, leaving only a few tiny bubble around the beer. Big wild, sour-funky nose with some nice fresh ginger that eventually comes out, and hints of lime juice blending things. A puckering mouthfeel with a little tart left on tongue. The lime adds to the sourness, and the spices add a nice different touch on the style. Quite an interesting spiced Barrel Aged Sour.

375ml bottle. Minimally milky, ruby colour with small to average, dense, frothy, diminishing, off-white head. Woody, citrusy fruity and spicy, mildly funky, yeasty aroma, notes of oak, lime, lime peel, ginger, a touch of cherry, cherry cola, widely disguised, rye malty background. Taste is sour, citrusy fruity, tannic woody, yeasty funky and mildly spicy, notes of lime, lime peel, ginger, some oak, some funk, some peppery yeasty spiciness, black pepper, a touch of blue grapes, widely disguised, rye malty basis with very low residual sweetness.
Watery texture, dry and astringent palate, medium, prickly carbonation.
Very nice composition, matching and balanced lime and ginger combination, not even too sour taste but sadly too astringent mouthfeel - pretty decent overall.

Bottle at home, courtesy of TD for my bday, thanks a lot man! Pours copper with a quickly dissipating head. Nose is intense funk and acidic notes, gentle ginger and lime touches to it. Delicate and interesting. Taste is lactic notes and lime at first, then it's funky, showing barnyard and vague leathery notes and finally the ginger appears adding a slighlty hot, spicy touch. The finish is somewhat earthy and immensely dry with a rather apparent acidity. I had some reservations for this cause I'm not a fan of ginger and also thought that maybe the lime and ginger on a sour base might be an overkill but I couldn't have been more wrong. This is complex, layered and delicate, a rather fine drink all in all.

Deep maroon with almost no head. Soured cola notes, cherry and ginger. Much like it tastes with a nice tartness.
