Bomber shared at home. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of dark sugars - molasses, treacle, demerara. Touch of honey on the taste. Could do with a touch more balancing bitterness, but otherwise very nice. Good carbonation, body, mouthfeel and finish.

Bottle at home. The colour is dark nut brown with a beige medium head. Sweet aroma of coffee, leather, brown sugar, caramel, cocoa and some licorice. The flavour has more chocolate, lactose, and roasted malt in the background with coffee and something reminiscent of Baileys liqueur. Has a smooth and slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A sweet ale but is balanced and tasteful.

[330ml bottle from Westholme Stores] Black-brown with a large tan head and a light fizz. Coffee up front, then honey, chocolate, charcoal and a hint of health drink. Lovely relaxing late night beer maybe a little sweet and sticky by the end, but it does have the roast malt bitterness to balance. Lovely stuff.

330mL bottle at Brewdog Birmingham, pours a deep dark amber / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma of wet dog (?!), some dark fruits, and a little caramel. Flavour of caramel, dark fruits, and a healthy dosage of hops that feels out of place in a scotch ale. Medium-bodied for the style, without as much potency as I would've hoped for. Nevertheless, decent scotch ale.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks Maor. Very dark brown to black with a light brown head. Aroma of malt, spices, light roastiness, a hint of chocolate and a bit of licorice. Sweetish malty flavor with some roastiness, a bit of chocolate and a bit of spiciness. Finishes with a bit of alcohol and light smokiness. Medium to full-bodied.

Bottle. A small, tan head forms over a very dark, brown body. Some curtains occur. Rather vinous aroma, with lots of choclate and dried fruits up front. A light touch of roasted malts and some caramel in the back. Licorice and molasses too. It’s sweet and lightly warming on the palate, with a really pleasant carbonation level. Full body. The flavor has roasted malts, chocolate, caramel and after a while, some raisins. Some bitterness notes too, at least in the finish, where’s there’s also a little booze. Lasting finish. A nice one indeed. 130329
