Opaque dark brown beer with a tidy tan head. Palate is crisp and dry. Minerally dark malt with a strong coffee and marmite streak. Trace of sweet fruit underneath. Minerally fresh and tangy, Okay but something of a retrograde step for this beer methinks.

0.33l bottle from #048 (I don't understand the batch system Brewdog is operating with) This is a clear deep brown one with a really good looking big and lasting strong espresso-colored head. The aroma is sweet and vanilla-woody with dark fruits, black honey, sticky super-sweet caramel and some sharp spices. It both smells and looks really really good, so let's hope it taste the same: oh yeah. It's average carbonated and has a really creamy and cloudy texture in the mouth. Flavors are influenced with espresso-caramel, woody dry and dark chocolate, vanilla, dark honey, roasted malts and a soft mild acidity all the way in the background with a perfectly suiting little hint of alcohol in the finish and aftertaste. I'm sold! This was a really good one! 06.07.2012
