33cl from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours clear, very dark red, almost black, with a beige head. Smells a bit like cough sirup (licorice and honey). Malty aroma with roasted notes, licorice, chocolate, dark dried fruits, caramel, honey and hints of spices. Very sweet with a lightly bitter and spicy finish. Sweet than I prefer, but quite decent. Lightly bitter aftertaste.

Big beige lasting head. Opaque black body goes deep dark red at edges. Chocolatey toffee aroma with earthy syrupy notes. Sweetish honey and roasty chocolate taste with smoky resiny notes. Fullish body. Mild, smooth, soft mouthfeel. Dryish waxy chocolatey aftertaste with earthy honey notes. Incredibly smooth and drinkable. (0.33l bottle, wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

Bardzo dobre ciemno-brązowe piwo, rozgrzewające i pachnące kawą, palonym słodem i odrobiną miodu. Piana ciemno żółta i trwała. Smak treściwy i wyrazisty. W zapachu intensywnie palony. Wytrawny finisz

330 ml bottle @ Patricks. Dark brown, almost black body with a nice beige head. Aroma of malt, honey and some dry fruit. Flavor is sweet malt, honey and dry fruit. Fine body and sweet in aftertaste. Quite pleasant but very sweet, the lack of bitterness might contribute to the almost sticky aftertaste. Except for that there is a certain balance here.

Bottle at home - 16/09/12. Pitch black with a decent frothy tan head that thins within a few minutes. Decent lacing ensues. Strong malt nose, grain, dark sugars, nuts, honey. Tastes of sweet dark sugars, treacle toffee, toasted malts, slightly medicinal, dark fruit, honey. Medium bodied with a fair bite in terms of thickness, moderate carbonation, sweetish finish.

33 cl bottle @ home. Batch #166, BBE 24.05.2013
Aroma is somewhat sweet with some roasted malt, cocoa and hints of honey. Flavour is sweet with honey, some salty licorice, soy sauce and hints of cocoa. Feels like an imperial stout. The malt feels a bit burned here, but this is good still.

Very strong roasted malts give off hints of cocoa and smokey coffee. Has a red wine richness and strength and so me fruity undertones.
