Can. Last of the series! Been a joy going through all four. Pours a clear copper to brown, small head. Aroma is intense vanilla, bourbon, wood, prune, fig, dark berries. Lots of bourbon barrel coupled with fruity barley wine notes. Medium to big body. Flavour is sweet and malty, lots of caramel, very fruity, orange marmalade, prunes, some berry notes. Lots of wood and bourbon and loads of vanilla. Finish is sweet, slightly boozy, vanilla. Lovely barley wine, really grew on me as it warmed up.

Can at home, from Buxton online, 11/12/20. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a well presented lasting khaki cap ... poured really light in colour initially but settled down to a really dark brown. Nose is dried fruits, sultanas, light chocolate notes, molasses, brown sugar melt, toffee fudge, Nutella. Taste comprises liquid fruit cake, toffee, light smoke, mellow bourbon, caramel, hint of vanilla, oak, hazelnut. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid well balanced BA BW ... this one grew on me ... not that it was a slow starter particularly but went 3.8 to 3.9 to 4.0 to 4.1 by the time I'd finished. Drinks really easy for the hefty ABV.

Can. Dark amber color, malt syrup, toffee and vanilla in the aroma. Sweet, slightly smoky, earthy flavor with oak, herbal notes, toffee, vanilla and bourbon. Enough complexity to partly compensate the immense sweetness.

Can picked up from Buxton brewery webshop Buxton, Derbyshire, UK. Consumed at home Saturday 14th November 2020 (Loz's birthday), listening to Tom Robinson on 6Music. Pours dark, dark brown, hazy with an off white head. A little bit boozy on the nose, some vanilla, but bourbon noted. Warming in the mouth, sweet, boozy, bourbon, caramel as per description, it's good but perhaps not quite as good as hoped.
