Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a dark mahogany with a reddish hue. The aroma is malty leading to a medium bitter flavour with a slightly spicy palate. A drinkable beer that won't win too many awards.

Bottle @ home. Brown colour with a small light brown head that doesnβt last very long. Smells malty, sweet, some spices. There isnβt a lot of smell though. Smells sweet, some liquorice, brown sugar and some spices. Not a bad beer at all, but not my style. Great carbo, medium body.

21 Oct 2012 in Valkenburg, Holland: Cafe De Grendelpoort is having a Bockfest and this was one of the brews on-tap. Dark reby red in colour with a tan foaming head. Sweet malty molasses rule the taste and smell as most Bocks do, this was slightly sweeter than most though and a bit thicker and stickier in the body. The beer becomes more interesting as it warms a little, dark fruit notes appear in the aroma and taste, caramel becomes detatched from the other malt flavours and a mild hoppiness pops up at the end of each sip. I think I tried all the Bocks during the weekend and I enjoyed this one about the best.
