Taiphoon is a pale, thirst-quenching ale with a distinctly hoppy, yet flower palate. The addition of lemongrass gives a zing to the flavour, making it an ideal accompaniment to spicy dishes.

(Cask at Kitty's, 20191024) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was small, white and it lasted long. Aroma had fruitiness, lemongrass and earth. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, lemongrass, earth, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was earthy and bitter. A bit gimmicky brew with nice notes, too.

Cask at the Garden Gate Hampstead. Hazy blond colour with small white head. Aroma stinky, bit floral, bit of lemon. Taste is what you would expect but with a touch of yeastiness, bit of marzipan, and citrus. Not bad, not that exciting. --- Beer merged from original tick of Taiphoon on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Cask half-pint in the Lych Gate Tavern, Wolverhampton on 9th March 2018. Golden pour, white head with lacing. Subtle stuff this Lemongrass; refreshing enough, but it's a summer beer or to have with food. Scored objectively.
