Why don’t bananas like getting sun burnt? Because they peel. Ok, the joke may be bad, but this unfiltered, German-style wheat beer with notes of cloves and banana-like esters is very good. We swear.

Muddy gold with little foam, good earthy wheat grain and semi-sweet bubble gum on the nose. Flavour is chalky bubble gum, soft wheat grain. Okay carbonation but otherwise watery. Serviceable hefeweizen.

22oz bomber. Unfiltered, cloudy yellow tinged orange. Thin, steady off-white head. Pleasant orange-banana aroma. Medium bodied, but still just a pinch bigger than typical for the style. The yeast is a little restrained as well, but overall it is a solid, clean, refreshing beverage.

Dull and cloudy, this is the sort of basic hefe you’d find all over Germany, some banana, touch of wheaty acidity, pretty simple but serviceable.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Cloudy yellow with orange tinge and extremely quick dissipating white head. Lots of yeast and wheat with a little banana. Taste has a little lemon and light bread on the taste. Light-medium body.

Cask at Darby’s Public House, Vancouver, dry hopped with Sorachi Ace
Cloudy orange-blond color with compact head. Mild aroma of bread and banana, simple version of a hefe. Soft mouthfeel, with white bread flavor, light banana, low bitterness; it has a light but necessary residual sweetness; the Sorachi presence is very subtle, just an orangey impression, and some lemon pie.
Good and balanced beer for the summer.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a cloudy golden orangey yellow with a small off-white head. Aroma of strong banana esters, with loads of clove and wheat. Flavour brings out loads of refreshing banana, followed by clove and moderate wheat notes. Incredible amounts of banana in here, probably more than any hef I've had before. Wonderful flavours with a high potency. Great stuff.

650 ml bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with light head and lots of carbonation. Aromas of cloves and dough. Flavors of bananas, wheat, corn syrup, light spice, and a bit of marmalade. Quite fruity. Quite nice.
