Jan Swammerdam grew up helping his apothecary father take care of his cabinet of curiosities. While studying medicine, he started his own collection of insects & eventually went on to discover the truth of the majestic bee colony; the king bee was in fact a Queen. Our golden Blonde Ale, with its hint of organic honey & zesty lemon refreshment, is a celebration of fresh thinking & magnificent ingredients.

Fles gekregen van Inoven, thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een helder goudgeel bier met een witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van gist en mout. De smaak is zacht hoppig, zoet en fruitig.

Bottle 33cl. from a local AH supermarket @home poured into a shaker. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, fair moussy white, halfway lasting, light lacing. Aroma sweet malt, grain, lemon, pineapple, some honey, hay. Smooth mild taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, grain, lemon, pineapple, light honey, hay. Medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation, fruity sweetbitter aftertaste, grainy notes, refreshing, well-balanced, very nice.

0.33 l bottle from 'Bierothek', best before November 2021. Almost clear, golden with a medium large, frothy, stable, white head. Sweetish, gently fruity-grassy and a little floral aroma of lemon peel, pineapple and traces of honey. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, gently fruity-grassy and slightly floral taste of honey, lemon peel, some pineapple and traces of hay, followed by a short, slightly bitter, moderately grassy finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Again a very solid, pleasant and well-balanced beer from Lowlander, the honey and lemon peel match extremely well.

33cl Fles van AH. Iets mistige goudgele kleur, mooie dikke witte schuimkraag. Honing, verbena, citroenschil, mout, zacht en romig mondgevoel, de honing voegt echt iets toe hier ipv dat het overheerst, lekkere frisse Blond, prima zomerbier.

Bottle. Golden pour. Aroma of yeast esters, orange and grainy malt mostly. Taste has sweet malt, yeast, a little honey and orange. Body is watery and the promised flavors don't really come out. Dissapointing.
