EBC 150.

8/II/25 - 33cl bottle from La Bièrerie (Illkirch, Strasbourg, FR), shared with Benzai @ home, BB: X/2033 (2025-125)

Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige head, a little stable, adhesive. Aroma: very malty, grains, cow fodder, a bit yeasty, good roast, some banana, chocolate notes, a hint of coffee, nice! MF: ok carbon, medium to full body, creamy texture. Taste: good, very malty start, grains, pretty bitter, very roasted, coffee, cocoa powder. Aftertaste: bitter, hoppy, alcohol, a bit yeasty, dry, chocolate, very roasted, slightly metallic, very old school English RIS, and I like it!

Bottle shared by TdeRoeck. Opaque black color, no head. Aroma is malts, roast, light coffee and light chocolate. Flavor is almost identical. Maybe some more roast dominant in the flavor than the aroma, malt bitter and a firm chocolate roast bitter finish. Full body, medium to full carbonation. Very good.

0.33 l bottle from the christmas market in Strasbourg, best before October 2033. Pitch black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty and minimally fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut and a touch of dark fruits. Quite sweet, malty, fairly roasty, gently bitter and slightly fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, toasted hazelnut, licorice and light dark fruits, followed by a medium long, quite roasty-bitter, almost ashy finish. Full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice Imperial Stout, pleasantly roasty and bitter, maybe with a slight Belgian touch.

Lighter thinner body. Mild roast, more creamy body, but super light for the style and abv. The flavours there are good, but not world-class for the style. The aroma brings it down a bit being slightly funky. Online saveurbier
