500ml bottle. Copper amber colour, thin foam tan head and slight malty aroma. Taste is malt, caramel, biscuity with an earthy bitterness and some residual sweetness. OK.

500 ml purchased @ Bert’s Better Beers. Amber color with frothy, off-white head. Steady carbonation. Smell is malts, English hops and generic plastic aroma. A little bit of sweetness and a touch of fruitiness. Medium body with a slick, oily texture. Weak bitterness. I wanted a change of pace with this; I normally don’t drink this style. This doesn’t make me want to drink more ESB’s.

50cl bottle, about 2.90€. "Crafted with English pale ale malt and Fuggles & Glding hops. Matured in Burton Union Oak casks".
Pours clear dark orange\amber with a small offwhite head, good lacing. Fresh on the nose, however nothing stands out. Aroma of mild caramel malts and soft english hops, possibly a faint woody note. Taste is sweetish on the malts, then a nice bitterness comes out. Finish is not exciting but sustained on the hops. Texture is watery and carbonation is high for the style. I’d say this is a counterpart to a good German Pilsener

Bottle at home in London at almost 3am on a Saturday morning. Huh? Pours clear, ruby-gold with a creamy white head. Nose holds some berries and semi-ripe fruits and some sweet caramel. Light to medium sweet with plenty of lightly toasted bread, toffee/caramel, some berry fruits and ripening fruits. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Somewhat creamy. Sweet on the finish with just hints of leafy bitterness, more caramel sugars, lightly ripened fruits, perhaps grapes, raspberries and strawberries. A very decent ESB.

Firm head, cream-coloured over clear copper-amber beer. Very caramelly aroma, and indeed a little sulphur - the Burton snatch indeed. Nearly toffee, but doesn’t seem too sweet; bit of garden herbs too. Parsly, caramel, again some sulphur, even bit grassy; and soem fine lining that is faintly hoppy indeed. Finely carbonated, light to medium bodied. Honestly, I’m flabbergasted. Every time I had Pedigree on cask in the UK (and that goes back as far as the eighties), I assessed it dull, plain and seriously overestimated. This is actually pretty d*mn good, and that àfter the sell-out... I really would love a try at the six.

A lovely amber pint with a thick, foamy head. A distinct sweet aroma that sets off the mild, bitter taste. Not an especially strong flavour but it does have a subtle, hoppy aftertaste. A crisp, fizzy ale that could work as a session ale.

Sweet malty aroma, nice amber amber colour with a thin white head. Plenty of hops in the taste. with a good sharp hoppy finish.
