33cl bottle pours a slightly hazy, deep cola brown with some clumpy, slightly off white head. Big nose, prunes and raisins, some booze, some honey, a little toasted brown bread, chewy malt, some light candy sugar. Flavor is very earthy, whole grain bread, raw cacao pods, some earth, a little tobacco leaf, some dried apple slices, a little vanilla. Very interesting flavor. Dry, medium bodied finish. I think this would go great with a cigar.

dark red colour, minimal beige head (which immediately disappear); aroma of candy sugar; taste of roasted sugar, fruity sourness and significant hoppy bitterness; my only problem is that IT IS NOT A BELGIAN ALE AT ALL (Abbey Dubbel as style must be a joke). I would have given 3.2 as score if they had not indicated it as belgian-style ale. But as a belgian ale, it’s only 2.9 (with a lot of kindliness)

330ml green bottle bought at Csak a jó Sör in Budapest earlier this summer. Shared with Finn back home. Unclear, dark apricot coloured body. Low, beige coloured head. Spotty lacing. Smell of dark and dried fruits. Sweet dark fruits in the flavour with impact on plums. Distant bitter ending. Nice try, however it tastes a bit immature and unfinished (Tromsø, 11.09.2012).

Flaske 0,33l. Ubalansert. Krydret ettersmak. Virker noe uferdig.

Bottled 330ml. -from Sörspecialista.hu, Budapest. Dark amber (almost brown) coloured, small creamy tan head, dark fruits and caramel in the nose. Slight toasted malt, caramel and dark fruits with mild hint of vanilla near the end. Discreet toffee/coffee notes in the finish, alcohol well hidden. Good brew.

bottle, many thanks to Cuso! Cloudy amber-golden colour, mid-sized off-white head. Hoppy aroma. Intensive malty base, slightly sweet, slightly grainy. Lots of aromatic and bitter hops there, resulting in an impressive bitter-sweet characer.

So I get to be the first rater for the first attempt at a Belgian style beer in Hungary - yay! Draught at the Főzdefeszt yesterday. Poured a misty dark red, slightly amberish with a lasting off white-tan thick whead. Nice, smooth dusty malty nose, a bit caramelly, not that Belgian. The taste is... well.. exactly what you can expect from a (good) Hungarian micro tackling a Belgian style. A very nice full smooth malty backbone carries some orange rind to remind you that this is not your regular stuff. Notes of coffee and extremely light banana from time to time. Light peppery, sweaty bitter finish. By all means a very good beer, especially this fresh, but don’t expect wonders.
