Keg at chandos. It pours clear deep ruby - brown with a thick, dense beige head. The aroma is actually sweeter than expected...toasty nut, chocolate, praline, toasty malts and fruit cake. The taste is smooth, roasted malts, toasty, earth, touch of umami, coffee grounds, cacao nibs, slight tannin, pipe tobacco, malt loaf and some spice. Finish is toasty and dry. Light+ body and moderate+, fluffy carbonation. Quite like this one. Bit of a disconnect between aroma and taste, bit enjoyable.

Tap at Ye Old Chwshire Cheese. Aroma is malty a with a berry streak. Opaque brown. Creamy beige head. Medium bitter. Dark chocolate and charcoal. Tangy berries. Latent caramel. Light-medium bodied. Slick to creamy. Flat-average carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Easy drinking if unexciting.

Keg, 2.8 % avb, half-pint at the Samuel Smith pub Angel Inn. Nitro creamy, beige head blanketing the glass. Almost black in body appearance. Lightly roasted malty taste, hints of earth and chocolate. Dark malty taste, hints of chocolate and nuts. Lightly roasted ending. Thin bodied, still quite smooth on the swallow. Easy going, decent mild. (Leeds 05.07.2017).

Very dark brown colour with thin creamy head. Aroma has some roasted dark malts. Body is a bit light but it’s very flavoursome for the low abv.
