Brewed with only the finest malted barley, Challenger, Target and the majestic Fuggle hops. Fermented with the famous Theakston twin strain yeast to create its extra strength and complex character. The legendary Old Peculier is a deep, dark ruby coloured ale with a rich, fruity flavour with hints of black cherry and banana.

Dark brown with a ruby hue, a creamy off-white head and a fruit malt loaf aroma. Rich and creamy, sweet fruit malt with a touch of spice and a dry herbal and slightly bitter finish.

Cask at the Flute & Flagon, Solihull. Reddish brown pour with smooth beige head and great lacing. Sweet malts with a nutty, bread, mineral and fruity light sour berry. Smooth as you like with a soft carbonation. Still a classic and this one was in very good condition.

Cask @ The Cover Bridge Inn, East Witton. Clear dark mahagony with a small beige head. Aroma of malts, chocolate, berries and vinegar. Taste of red fruits, chocolate, plums, treacle malts and dried fruits. Sweet-ish and vinous. Low bitterness. Low carbonation. Smooth velvety mouthfeel. Lovely. I want to have this again as it might be possible that I do prefer the bottled version but I‘d like to be sure.

Pours a clear mahogany with a ruby hue and a small beige head. The aroma is dark berries, sweet sherry, and sweet dark malts. A moderately sweet taste, sweet dried fruit, dark berries, pear, toasted malts, and light woody spice flavours with a bittersweet finish.

Pint on tap at Pig and Whistle, Brisbane. Not cask of course. Ruby red/brown beer with a thin white head that dissipates. Smoked caramel nose. Slight zing, taste of liquorice, touch of treacle. Seems to be highly carbonated. Bitter hop finish. Just ordinary, I think it's served too cold and overgassed.
