Cask@GBBF2007. Golden colour, with almost no head at all. Aroma is eggs, grains and some yeast. Pretty much the same goes for the flavour. Some slight notes of malts too. Perhaps a bad cask?

Cask at the General Elliot, South Hinksey, Oxon, 18-06-07. Poured golden as the name might suggest, good hoppy fruity beer that whilst very enjoyable didn;t seem to taste as goos as when I’d had it at the Burton brew pub a few years ago, still a very decent beer.

Cask half-pint at NERAX on 5/4/07
Very light, peachy-gold appearance, bright, with a smattering of white head and lace atop it. Retention is fair.
Not much going on in the nose though. Very bland, nutty, and with lots of soaked grains. No real malt softness. Maybe some acetyldehyde as well? Definitely thin and papery.
And sadly, the flavor confirms the aroma. Not horrible or offensive and aside from some papery acetyldehyde, it’s not really flawed. It’s just, well, bland, watery, grainy and soggy. Hops add only a touch of bitterness and light citrus flavors, but get lost in all of the soggy, nearly tannic grain notes.
I wasn’t going to rate it, thinking it must have been the condition of the beer, not how it was brewed, but looking at most of the ratings, I’m not so sure at all that that is the case. Don’t know for sure, but I’ll definitely re-rate it next chance I get. If this sample is truly representative of what the brewer created, then as Duff said, I expected ALOT more.

Cask at The Old Manor, Bracknell (JDW). A pale gold colour with a good white head, lasting to the bottom of the glass with lots of lacing; citric hop aroma; full creamy flavour with a hint of apples; good long bitter finish. Refreshing, and definitely with an appley (but not cidery) feel.

Cask. Half pint at The Penderels Oak, Holborn. Golden body. Missing head. Citric aroma. Hoppy flavour with hints of sweet marmalade. Woody impression. Flat and dry bitterness in the finish. Not memorable (04.02.2007).

Cask@Beer Hunters. Pale yellow.golden, small white head. Flowery hoppy nose. Earthy, yeasty, medium-body. Slight bitterness, not really hoppy bitterness but alcoholic, which makes palate quite unbalanced. Good hoppy aftertaste, but otherwise quite bland. Maybe not in top condition - yet.

[Cask at Charlies Bar, Copenhagen] A hazy light yellow beer with a bubbly beige head. The aroma is yeasty and fruity with a slight note of diacethyl, but not too much. The flavor is very fresh with notes of green apples on a light malty back ground. A very easily drinable session beer - though without a lot of character.
