Cask at Pigs Ear Beer Festival 2021, Hackney. London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel taste/aroma. Really nice, easy drinking porter.

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2021 - Hackney. Pours deep brown with a creamy, khaki head. Lightly sweet with soft roast, a little ashy dryness, dark fruit and berry accents, earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Rounded dark malt finish, more berry notes, mellow roast. Not bad.

9/12/2020. My 12,000th beer rating. And I've picked a decent beer for it. Cask take-out from the Stow Fen Brewery. Pours almost black with a very small bubbly beige head. Aroma is moderate roasted malt, chocolate, light charcoal, nut and sweet coconut, with a touch of coffee and liquorice. Taste is fairly sweet with mild but developing roasted bitterness. Very smooth, with very light carbonation. Nice sweet/nutty/coconut/roasty finish. Extremely drinkable.
