Isle Of Wight Holiday Beer#44. Found at the Morrisons on the edge of Sandown, where they just seem to stock all bottle conditioned ales from the island regardless of season. Christmas has come early for me! Mild winter spices, winter warmer texture and sticky-sweet taste.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Amber colour, thin white foam head and aroma of malt, toffee, herby, cinnamon hint. Taste is toffee, malty, some caramel and biscuit, with herby, spiced bitterness. Medium bodied, light carbonation, dry tangy lightly spiced finish. Quite OK.

500ml bottle [yet another Christmas gift from Grumbo - thanks a lot!]. Slightly cloudy, copper-ish, dark amber to brown colour with small to average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, minimally toasty, caramel malty and spicy aroma with a minimally floral, soapy bathsalt touch, hints of cinnamon, a touch of lavender. Taste is sweet-ish, minimally toasty, caramel malty, floral, minimally soapy, spicy, hints of cinnamon and lavender. Watery texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, soft carbonation. Rather restricted cinnamon flavours, ginger-like soapiness (without ginger spiciness) - OK.

Taste comprises fruit slice, cinnamon, clove, brown bread, toasted malts, brown sugar dusting. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Passable offering.
