Bottle from the brewery. Golden-amber with a white head and a light fizz. Reasonably full-bodied. Fruity and smokey up front with a hint of lemon and a mild twiggy bitterness in the finish. Better than I expected; I like the smoke although I'm not sure that it's meant to be there!

Aroma of butter, caramel, grain, hops and fruit. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Moderate body, slightly watery, bit too carbonated.

Bottle from Beer Ambleside. Appearance - golden with a nicely proportioned head. Nose - pine, citrus, perhaps peach. Taste - citrus again, possibly grapefruit. Light grassiness. Biscuit backdrop. Palate - crunchy texture, dry finish. Close to medium bodied. Overall - not bad at all.
