Brewed for Pirlot, Pulderbos, as Christmas’ pendant to their "Kempisch Vuur". Pirlot stopped brewing Kerstvuur at De Proefbrouwerij after 2010, later vintages are brewed by Pirlot themselves and should be rated accordingly.…

Bottled (2004 vintage). Hazily golden, rich firm head. Concentrated starfruit aroma. Sweety and full bodied with some sugar and orange liqueur but low hop rate. A good, aromatic strong golden ale.

An unclear orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is yeasty, flowery, fruity with oranges being most present, and spicy with coriander being most dominant. The flavor is very sweet witn notes of alcohol, oranges, and spices - especially coriander.

Irregular, off-white head, fast gone; greenish shine, through yellow-orange beer. Perfumed, some pine-like aromas, spices. Cypress-like taste, pine-like flavour, resin included, on top of sweet (pale) malt taste. Finish is dry-spicey. Alcohol obvious. Very little else in MF. Not bad, really. I can imagine some people must like this very much - but then, I’m not one for Retsina neither, to which this beer is a worthy cerevisial pendant.
