On tap. Murky amber/orange colour, big head. Aroma of a lot of spices, yeast and fruit. Flavour is strong spices, sweet malts and fruits, spicy and bitter finish. Good one.

Bottle: Poured a murky orange with floaties and a small flat thin head. The aroma is yeast and light fruit. Taste is very sweet with fruit and malt there was a light spice to it. The spice has seemed to mild as this bottle has been aged for a few years.

Kerstvuur 2013 - Copper coloured. Aroma of sweet spice and barnyardesque yeasty funk. Very sweet, spicy taste. Again the dominance of cinnamon is not so nice. Hardly any difference to the 2012 version. Ar4Ap4T4P3O9 - 2.4. _____________________________________ Kerstvuur 2012 - Dark blond colour. This year clove and cinnamon are quite dominant. Ar4Ap4T5P3O9 - 2.5 ____________________________________ Kerstvuur 2011 - Orange colour with thin, lacy head and big chunks of floating residue from the bottle. This time the Christmassy spice comes through well together with bittersweet orange and a bit of spicy yeast. Texture is oily, carbonation low. Ar7Ap3F8P4O15 - 3.7 _____________________________________ Kerstvuur 2009- Hazy dark blond colour. Very herbal, grassy, aromatic. Coriander and Bay leaf come through. Flavour is very much dominated by the herbs although it remains a smooth and well refined beer with a peppery edge. Certainly not very Christmassy. Ar6Ap3F6P3O12 - 3.0 ____________________________________ Kerstvuur 2007 - Pours a beautiful clear pale orange colour. Aroma is of oranges and spices. Texture is soft at first before the taste of cloves kicks in. A great winter beer full of fruit and spice that still remains clean and fresh. Ar7Ap4F8P4O15 - 3.8

33 cL bottle, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours slight hazy orange with a dense off-white head. Mild yeasty and malty mellow aroma. Flavour is sweet malty with a nice mellow yeasty spice note. Finish is much the same - a very gentle and smooth brew. Very nice.

Bottled@Kerstbierfestival, Essen. Yellowish golden colour, not much head. Aroma is spices, sweet malts and some mild fruits. Flavour is nectar, spices and a mild sting of alcohol. All in all quite good balance.

(Vintage 2006, bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm, 16 Feb 2007) Golden yellow colour with huge white head. Malty and spicy nose with notes of spruce needles and resin. Spicy taste with notes of ginger, spruce and pine needles and resin with a nice hoppy finish. Slightly sweet with a warming alcohol touch. Kind of strange, balanced and unbalanced at the same time. Nice beer though. (Did they put spruce needles in it?)

Bottle @ Kerstbierfestival 2006 in Essen, BE. Clear yellow / golden / orange color with a fair white head. Aroma is malt, hops (fruit, flowers) and spices (anis). Flavor is moderate sweet and ligth bitter with a average duration. It is ligth alcoholic. I think this was a 2006 bottle (1250 bottles produced in 2006)

Hazy golden color. Aroma of roasted ham and malt; sounds weird, but it’s nice. Malty, fruity malts, good yeast, good bitterness. Solid, as usual from de Proef. Original and very good.

(Bottle 75 cl) Slightly hazy with a creamy, white head. Aroma of coriander and yeast. Rather full body, sweetish with some citrus. Unfortunately some vague moldy notes. Very subdued bitterness. 170406
