Can. 9.5% ABV. Coffee, spices, licorice, roasted malts, cocoa and alcohol in a very pleasant blend. Notes of oat crackers and brown sugar. There's some prune and a distinct fruity sour touch as well, adding to the complexity. Not much sourness though, but enough to make me consider how much I like the beer. Anyway, it's still lovely though. 848417 251014

Dessertchokolader, bourbon, vanilje/eik, nytrukket espresso. Kanskje kveldens beste.

Can: Poured a black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of spicy chile notes with some cinnamon and chocolate notes is OK. Taste is an unbalanced mix of cinnamon with some chile notes with mild spicy notes and some black chocolate notes and some residual sugar notes. Body is thin for style with good carbonation. Unbalanced and lacking harmony between flavours.

(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City - ABV listed as 9.5%) Pours black with a small deep brown head that fades without lace. Notes of lightly sweet dark malts with heavy bitter roast, unsweetened cacao, quite some smoky savoury chipotle notes, ashy burnt grain, light spicebox, aroma holds a little cinnamon but it's fairly weak on the tongue, definitely not a cinnamon bomb. Overall balance is lightly sweet becoming very dry, quite bitter, ashy, light roast acidity and smoky soft heat plus booze for a drydown effect. Light bodied for style, a bit thin, very soft carbonation. Needed a bigger malt body and mouthfeel to hold the adjuncts for me, this is far from pastry which is okay but lacks the richness of a modern adjunct stout.
