Bottled(500ml). –Golden coloured with a big white head. Dusty wheaty nose. The flavor is sweet malty, corny and metalic with not so pleasant notes of caramel. Sweet caramelish finish. Probably spoilt bottle or ???

Boy, it is sure hard to figure out what Hacker you have by the listings on the HP site, the names rarely match up exactly. 12 oz brown bottle. Date code on the neck of this bottle is 1417, aged well. The pour of this is just like any other ubiquitous pale yellow american beer. Constant steams of fine bubble are rising from within. A beery smell combined with candy sweetish aroma that makes it attractive to whiff. Very attractive olfactory compared to other dorts. Initially this brew comes across medium strong but it then develops into a refined lager flavor. Very little bitterness can be detected but there is some hints in there that at least lets you know you are drinken a beer. Very little lacing on the side of the glass. This beer is not quite as good as Lowenbrau for a dort, but is much better than Victory V Lager, Hereford & Hops Dortmunder and Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold. Overall an enjoyable brew but there are many other american lagers that can match this for flavor and are much less expensive.

A golden lager with a thick white head, and a lightly translucent character. In aroma, a strong aroma of wet mash, hot from the tun, with light hopping. In mouth, a grainy beer, with loads of malt, sweet with mineral notes, and some crisp german hops. A bit short again. Jan. 2007.

Cask Deep gold, good dense white head. Malt, sweet worts, fresh but not greenmalt, bit of arachide all the same. Sweet, quite sweet pale malts, with lots of restsugars. They ought to rack the beers unfiltered, d*mmit! Ends on (sweet) corn, ore evern sugar salad. Medium bodied, slick & sticky. Very sweet beer. The hubbub about the Holzfässer would be more appropriate for an "Ungespundetes "

Bottle: Medium-sized, fluffy head, lacing, straw- golden coloured; grainy and a bit alcoholic nose; mild, slightly sweetish flavour; slightly bitter and a bit tart fruity finish; medium bodied; O.K., not very impressive, but better than the average bavarian Hell.............

A yellow beer with a small collapsing white head. The aroma is slightly sour hoppy with very light notes of malt. The flavor is sweet malty with a good hop making a good presence, combined with light notes of caramel. The hops gives it the beer a very crisp flavor and a dry end. The mouthfeel is very soft.

Huge hop aroma with malt. Yellow and very clean, with a long lasting white head that laces the glass. Several flavors, bread, yeast, cream. Some bitterness, but not overwhelming; easy to drink. Medium body.

2004 bottle. Sitting in the cooler and a fresh bottle, it’s hard to believe the whole six pack I bought went bad, but that’s what it tasted like. Syrupy sweetness, meets a stale spiciness. Dull body, tastes like corn syrup with a vegetable-like hops flavor. At least it had body though, wasnt watery. Still, my expectations for this brewery being very high, this one was a major disappointment. Light aroma of honey, white bread and a hint of yeast. Looks a clear golden yellow with a rocky white head. Will try again.
