Handpull cask at the Borough Arms, Crewe. Light gold and clear with a film of white head. Light gains aroma with notes of lemon and lime. Bittersweet taste with a grainy and slightly soapy character, with the bitterness increasing to the long finish. It's a well-crafted beer but I don't find it that engaging. Not surprised by the high rates although I don't share their enthusiasm.

Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Nice citrusy bittersweet finish. Good brew.

A sweetly hopped pale ale, which makes for a very pleasant taste and drink.
