Dark brown colour with ruby-copper highlights, a big creamy-frothy, warm-beige head with very good retention and leaving nice lacing. Roasted-chocolate malt aromas with a touch of roasted nuttiness, hints of fruitiness, maple, coffee, vanilla. A soft mouthfeel with some building, mild dryness. Roasted barley flavours, all well-blended with notes of apples, a tad grassiness lingering. Quite a pleasant, mild Porter with lots going on, but all so subtle.

En fût à la brasserie. Du café et du chocolat noir en olfactif. De couleur noir avec une toute petite mousse. En bouche, un bon mélange de saveurs chocolatées et de café noir amère. L’entrée de bouche se fait dans le chocolat au lait, et se transforme au fur é à mesure qu’il roule en bouche en chocolat noir avec en finale une explosion de notes de torréfaction de café. La texture est juste, l’effervescence subtile et à point. Un très bon porter. Rarement gouté d’aussi bon et ce même si je ne suis pas un très grand amateur du style.

A deep dark porter with a thin moka head. In aroma, a nice peaty chocolate, very smoothm with coffee grinds. In mouth, a smooth silky porter with light sweet nutty notes, quite nice, if a bit light. On tap at brewpub, Dec. 27 2010.
