Draught at Sorbon, Bromma, Stockholm. Opaque near black, small beige head. Tarry nose. Sweet with marzipan, milk chocolate and molasses together with tarry smoke. Solid body with bold, compact mouthfeel. Fairly low bitterness. A direct, one-dimensional beer, but still pleasant.

Bottle. Poured a near black with a thin brown head. Aroma had a nice roasted and smokey aroma with malts. The smoke was not overwhelming. The flavor was nicely balanced with a nice roasted malt and a nice smokey finish.

Thanks to ericandersnavy for this magnificent 750. Pours very black with a foamy three finger tan head. Aroma is fairly smoky. Medium plus body with near creamy, mostly foamy carbonation. It’s smoky. Reminds of creosote to an extent. Underlying is smooth darkly roasted near burnt malt. Really very exciting and tasty. Great beer.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours an opaque black with a creamy light brown head. Hard roasted malts in the nose. Medium body, almost burned malt accents with a little metal. Rather malt bitter finish. Solid and good - but I don’t really pick up any smoke. 221009

Bottle 355ml.Clear dark brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, light smoke and earth. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091022]

Draught at EsBF09. Mild vinous aroma. Black colour. Good smokey flavour, mildly roasted. Good smooth mouthfeel. Roasted and mild, hint of grassy hops, especially in the aftertaste.

Expensive Corked and Caged 750 bottle with a tricky cork. Pours with a very deep brown body and a large, creamy mocha colored head. Aroma of light smoke, jerky, toasted-caramel grain, light chocolate, metal, some leather and light fruit. Decently decadent smelling. Taste is dry and smokey with some light meat elements, charcoal, dry Mexican roast coffee and a bit of unsweetened chocolate. Dehydrated feeling. Lively bubbles and a creamy mouthfeel. Very, very low residual sugars.

Tap @ Esbjerg Festival, 2009. Pours pitch black with a creamy brown head and lacings. Dark and roasted malts. Grain and coffee. Smooth and full palate. Taste is roast, grain, coffee and smoke. Nice one.

Draught at Jydske Øldage 2009. Frothy off-white fair mostly deminishing head. Black colour. Heavy malty rauch aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Strong smoked notes and no chocolate. Average heavy bitter finish. Oily palate.
